Properties here sit above the water, which means salt in the air year-round, and they are usually designed around a view, which means the metalwork has to hold a guard up without blocking what the client paid for. Corrosion spec near the water
Standard powder coat over bare steel fails early this close to the ocean. We hot-dip galvanize first, use 316 stainless for fasteners and cable, isolate dissimilar metals so nothing sets up a galvanic cell, and detail frames so they drain. On an exposed site this is not an upgrade — it is the minimum that lasts.
Railings that keep the view
Cable infill, slim-post glass and minimal top rails, engineered so the posts land where the structure can actually take the load. On a cliff-edge deck the guard has to pass a code load test and still disappear, which usually means fewer, stronger posts rather than more of them.
