Most metal projects fail in the gaps between trades: the fabricator blames the installer, the installer blames the drawing. We removed the gaps by keeping the whole chain under one roof — measure, cut, weld, form, finish and install. Below is what we do; each service page covers the detail, and a free in-house consultation is the fastest way to get a real number.
Welding
MIG, TIG and stick welding on structural steel, stainless and aluminum. Shop fabrication, weld repairs and one-off parts built from your drawing or your sample.
Mobile Welding
On-site welding across Vancouver, Burnaby and the North Shore for work that cannot be removed — gate hinges, railing posts, structural connections and emergency repairs.
Metal Bending
Press brake forming for sheet and plate. Panels, brackets, channels and custom profiles bent to your angles and tolerances.
Installation
Site measurement, delivery and professional installation of railings, gates, stairs and structural steel — anchored correctly and ready for inspection.
Shop Fabrication or On-Site Work
Almost every job we take on is one or the other, and knowing which yours is changes the cost more than anything else about it.
Shop work is better whenever the piece can travel. Better access, better position, better fit-up, proper distortion control and a real finish afterwards. If something can be removed and brought in, that is usually the cheaper and better job — and we will tell you when that applies rather than charging for a site visit that produces a worse result.
Site work is for what cannot move: something structural, something bolted into a building, or something that would cost more to remove and reinstate than to repair in place. That brings its own constraints — access, power, hot-work procedures, protection of finishes and the building’s own rules — and those are worth agreeing before anyone is scheduled.
From Drawing to Installed
The sequence is the same whether the job is a single bracket or a full elevation of guardrail, and knowing where you are in it helps.
Site visit and measurement. We measure what is actually there rather than working from a drawing, and on a renovation the difference between the two is routine. This is also where we establish what the piece will fix into.
Shop drawings, where the project needs them. Dimensions, profiles, connections, fixings and finishes, issued for review before anything is cut. Where structural design or a professional seal is required, that comes from a qualified engineer engaged for the project — we fabricate to it.
Fabrication. Cutting, forming, welding, dressing and assembly, in the sequence that controls distortion and keeps marks off the show faces.
Finishing. Galvanizing and powder coating are carried out by specialist applicators rather than in our shop, and we coordinate that stage. It is also the part of the schedule that is least within our control, which is why we quote it honestly rather than optimistically.
Installation. Delivery, fixing, adjustment and making good — with the sequence agreed against whatever else is happening on site.
What We Do Not Do In-House
Worth stating plainly, because it affects lead times and because some shops are vague about it. Hot-dip galvanizing, powder coating and pattern cutting of perforated and decorative panels are carried out by specialist suppliers and applicators, and we coordinate that work as part of the job. Structural engineering and professional seals come from a qualified engineer engaged for the project. Gate automation, access control and electrical work are supplied and commissioned by your automation or electrical contractor.
None of that is unusual — it is how custom architectural metalwork is normally produced — but you should know it, because a piece with a complex cut pattern and a duplex finish moves through more hands than a plain welded one and the schedule reflects that.
